Course Description

This course will introduce the learner to the operations team, its role at the organization, and all of the products and services that it offers. The course will familiarize the learner with departments and services such as items processing, information technology, and international operations. After completing this course, the learner will understand:
- The functions of the Audit, Compliance, and Legal departments at the organization.
- The importance of the Finance department to the organization.
- The role of Human Resources at the organization.
Course Topics
T1. Operations: This topic will introduce the learner to the Department of Operations and the subdivisions that it is comprised of, including items processing, account reconciliation, balance, and statements services, and call centers.
T2. Items Processing: This topic will focus on the items processing subdivision by detailing its role at the financial institution and the positions that the group is divided into, which include readers and sorters, proof operators, and return items and exceptions processing.
T3. Audit Compliance and Legal: This topic will focus on the Audit, Compliance, and Legal departments at the financial institution and the positions that these departments are comprised of, such as compliance officers, internal auditors, and field examiners.
T4. Information Technology: This topic will focus on the financial institution's information technology department's duties and the positions that make up the department, including programmers, engineers, and software specialists, among others.
T5. Finance: This topic will focus on the finance department at the financial institution, which is responsible for managing the financial institution's money, and is comprised of controllers, account reconciliation clerks, and accounts receivable and accounts payable clerks.
T6. International Operations: This topic will familiarize the learner with the financial institution's international operations department, the purposes of which include foreign exchange trading services, import and export financing, and wire transfers, among others.
T7. Human Resources: This topic will familiarize the learner with the purpose of the Human Resources department at the financial institution, which is comprised of the Employee Benefits and Compensation, the Employee Relations, and Employment Staffing and Recruiting Groups.
