This course will introduce the learner to the project management team at the organization. The course will address the steps to be taken in creating an effective team that consists of competent and passionate members. The course will also cover the setting and achieving of performance goals and how the team can best be developed over time. After completing this course, the learner will understand:

• The importance of an effective project management team.
• How to set and recognize performance goals.
• How to use matrix management in managing the team. 

Course Topics

T1. Your Project Management Team: This topic will make a distinction between sponsors and team members, provide an overview for maintaining sponsorship of a project, and offer tips for forming an effective project team.

T2. Performance Goals: This topic will provide the learner with various procedures and strategies for improving team motivation and the setting and achievement of performance goals.

T3. Developing the Team: This topic will provide the learner with tips for establishing strong team morale, and includes examples of effective team-building activities.

T4. Matrix Management: This project will familiarize the learner with the method of matrix management through the use of "the six methods of influence."
