This course will introduce the learner to sexual harassment in the workplace, including a look at sexual harassment laws, myths, behaviors and effects. This course will also discuss subjects such as workplace romances, investing claims and what to do if you are accused. After completing this program the learner will be able to:

•  Identify the effects and behaviors of sexual harassment
•  Adhere to federal and state laws surrounding sexual harassment in the workplace
•  File a claim after witnessing or being accused of sexual harassment with the Fair Employment and Housing Department

Sexual Harassment_CA    This topic will define sexual harassment as a discriminatory behavior that is prohibited by law, and will inform the learner on the examples and different scenarios of sexual harassment.
History of Sexual Harassment_CA    This topic will inform the learner about past sexual harassment cases which lead to important laws in the workplace.
Federal Sexual Harassment Law_CA    This topic will define Sexual Harassment under federal law and will discuss gender biased discrimination, retaliation and investing allegations.
State Sexual Harassment Law_CA    This topic will inform the learner about the California’s prohibition against sexual harassment and will discuss favoritism in the workplace, the supervisor’s role, and how to file a claim.
Sexually Harassing Behaviors_CA    This topic will instruct the learner on how to recognize sexual harassing behaviors and the effects that harassment has on victims, perpetrators, bystanders, and the organization as a whole.
Hostile Environment_CA    This topic will define a hostile environment in the workplace and inform the learner the difference between a hostile work environment and a non-hostile work environment.
Channels of Sexual Harassment_CA    This topic will discuss the four methods by which sexual harassment is communicated: physical, verbal, non-verbal, and written, and examples and signs of each.
Workplace Romances_CA    This topic will discuss the problems with office romances and offer advice for couples on how to stay professional.
Effects of Sexual Harassment_CA    This topic will inform the learner of the physical and emotional effects that sexual harassment can have on the victim.
Workplace Violence_CA    This topic will define workplace violence and will give examples of threatening behaviors.
Sexual Harassment Myths_CA    This topic will debunk some of the many myths that exist around sexual harassment in an attempt to reinforce the fact that sexual harassment is a very real issue faced by many in the workplace.
Supervisor Responsibilities_CA    This topic will provide tips for supervisors to help prevent sexual harassment from occurring at the organization and to remain compliant with all laws and regulations.
What To Do If You Are Being Harassed_CA    This topic will provide the learner with several factors that should be used to determine if certain behaviors constitute sexual harassment, in addition to providing advice on addressing harassers and reporting harassment.
Rights of the Accused_CA    This topic will provide the learner with advice for how to respond if s/he is ever accused of sexual harassment.
Witnessing Harassment_CA    This topic will provide the learner with an explanation of the responsibilities of anyone who may witness sexual harassment and how s/he should go about reporting the issue.
Retaliation_CA    This topic will define retaliation and adverse action, in addition to explaining the concepts of covered individuals and protected activities.
Investigations_CA    This topic will explain the process involved in investigating claims of sexual harassment in the workplace, which includes questioning the victim, the accused and any witnesses, and how to take appropriate disciplinary action.
