This course will introduce the learner to banking procedures at the branch. The course will familiarize the learner with aspects of branch banking, including the bank’s vision and values, expected teller skills and standards, and the branch members that the teller will be working with. After completing this program the learner will understand:
- What shapes the bank’s vision and values.
- The role of the teller at the branch.
- What it takes to be successful as a teller.
- How to make financial projections.
T1. Branch Information: This topic provides information on the layout of the interior of a financial institution, with details on the teller and platform areas, ATMs, vault services, and more.
T2. Branch Team Members: This topic will detail the many and varied positions at each branch, such as the teller, head teller, cash vault manager, etc. and each of their responsibilities.
T3. History of Your Financial Institution: This topic will provide a brief overview of the three facets of a financial institution that branch managers should be familiar with: experience, size, and future outlook.
T4. Vision and Values: This topic will familiarize the learner with the importance of having a defined vision and values for the financial institution, which can include honesty and integrity, customer appreciation, and a commitment to the community.
T5. Teller Job Description: This topic will explain, in detail, the role and responsibilities of the teller, and the necessary attitude for any person in this position.
T6. Teller for a Day: This topic will familiarize the learner with a day in the life of a teller, including opening activities, daily activities, and closing responsibilities.
T7. Teller Skills: This topic will define the appropriate skill and ability requirements for a teller, such as communication, attention to detail, math aptitude, and more.
