This course will provide an overview of current events and trends in banking which affect the financial world. This course will also introduce the learner to the environment of mergers and acquisitions, and the purpose of this department. After completing this program, the learner will be able to:
- Maintain customer relationships using appropriate strategies such as commercial lending.
- Understand the use and purpose of e-signing capabilities and digital cash in a global and technological age.
- Function accordingly in the mergers and acquisitions environment.
Course Topics
T1. The MA Environment: This topic will serve as an introduction to the environment surrounding mergers and acquisitions, with a note about consolidation, competition, and partnership.
T2. Technology and Services: This topic will discuss how technology and its relationship with the financial services industry have developed, particularly in the face of new competition and challenges.
T3. Global Banking: This topic will delineate the advances that have been made in global banking in terms of e-signing capabilities, digital cash, the electronic marketplace, and other largely technological developments.
T4. Tracking the Customer: This topic will explain how financial institutions maintain customer relationships and the strategies employed thus, such as commercial lending, data warehouses and mining, and customer relationships.
