This course will introduce the learner to the guidelines appraisers and evaluators use when analyzing data to compile their reports. The learner will understand what is included in appraisal reports and the proper procedures for filing Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs). After completing this program, the learner will be able to:

  • Address and meet appraiser and evaluator qualifications.
  • File SARs for non-compliance or unethical conduct.

Course Contents

T1. Appraisal and Evaluation Guidelines: This topic will familiarize the learner with guidelines and requirements for appraisals and evaluations, focusing on transactions that require either appraisals or evaluations, and details regarding the program that establishes policies and procedures.

T2. Appraisers and Evaluators: This topic will familiarize learners with appraiser qualifications and the safeguards that must be in place to ensure appraiser independence.

T3. Appraisal Information: This topic will familiarize the learner with the approaches taken by appraisers to analyze and report the value of properties, also included in this topic is information regarding second appraisals, borrower receipt of appraisals, and transfer of appraisals.

T4. SARs, Fraud, and Unethical Conduct: This topic will familiarize the learner with the proper procedures for filing reports when an appraiser is suspected of not complying with policies or laws and is engaging in unethical conduct.
