The electronic Business School International, in conjunction with the Institute of Bankers Pakistan held a seminar and Launch event in Lahore on 2 May 2008 as part of the launch of the IFC FIT Initiative in Pakistan.
At the launch in Lahore Mr Nadeem Siddiqui, Country Head for IFC in Pakistan explained “The ‘FIT Initiative’ has been developed with the support of the ‘IFC Global Trade Finance Program’ which itself, in a short period of time has proven to be a highly successful global trade finance support program for banks and their customers in emerging markets, including Pakistan”. Traditionally a significant proportion of international trade from Pakistan has been undertaken by means of Documentary Credit or ‘Letter of Credit’ as it is more commonly known. Notwithstanding the continued importance of Letters of Credit in financing such trade into and out of Pakistan, it has been identified that there is a need to apply other methods of payment and more advanced trade finance products to further accelerate the development of exports from Pakistan. The ‘FIT Initiative’ will provide advanced skills in the ‘Finance of International Trade’ (FIT) to participants of the program. Successful participants will receive valuable certification in the Finance of International Trade from the Institute of Export in the United Kingdom as well as a certificate of achievement in Documentary Credits and UCP 600 from the International Chamber of Commerce in Paris. The IFC FIT initiative was launched in Pakistan with the valuable assistance of the Institute of Bankers in Pakistan (IBP) who took the lead in organising these high profile events on international standard banking practice in trade finance both in Karachi and Lahore. The launch at IBP was facilitated by Mr. Vincent O’Brien from Ireland. Mr O’Brien is a Member of the ICC Banking Commission in Paris and an award winning trade finance specialist who has undertaken technical assistance and trade finance training projects for the IFC in many emerging countries. Mr. O’Brien is confident that this launch will prove to be the start of a very productive and positive global network of trade finance accredited professionals and looks forward to many other countries joining the IFC ‘FIT Initiative’ to facilitate international trade and development which can only bring benefit of all countries and participants involved.

My experience with the ITS course is that International Trade is NOT Commerce,Economics or Business Studies it is simply International Trade so having had diverse experience in Communication,Marketing and Public Relations,I still find the course a novel experience with each phase and module as challenging , stimulating and as rewarding as the others couple with the wizardry expertise, patience, and support of the Lecturers.| “I would like to take an opportunity to offer a formal recommendation for eBSI. I have known eBSI for approximately 4 years and I can tell that their enthusiasm and dedication is both inspiring and motivating. |

“I have no hesitation to recommend ITS Accreditation and Export Training Programmes, as a person who had been actively involved (working in Ireland) in its launching in 2001-2002. It is great professional pleasure having seen that ten years after its foundation eBSI Export Academy programmes are attracting so many professionals worldwide keen to improve their knowledge in International Finance Methods and International Trade Practice. |

“The eBSI course I followed in 2004/2005 changed my mind about remote learning; unlike some of the boring, largely unmotivating training I had taken previously, I found this course very stimulating and it encouraged me to delve even more into the complex area of global trade. Though I have never met Thomas personally, I feel I know him well through the interactive sessions and easy telephone/email access when and as needed. He comes across as a dynamic person, very knowledgeable in his area and who constantly strives to enrich and improve the approach to remote learning” August 2, 2007

International Trade can be a difficult subject to teach especially to someone like myself, not having had exams since my leaving cert 16 years ago but because of the expert panel, the fully interactive media and the fact I could work in a time that suited me - that made studying so much easier.
I have no doubt that my attendance at EBSI was an exiting but most of all a very useful experience. The course complimented my more theoretical third level studies. I liked the way the topics were taught and these practical methods (especially the graphical representations) made issues clearer and more accessible to the learner. The evaluation techniques were very well developed. I especially appreciated the ways the Incoterms were explained and the Online sessions.
I am writing this feedback to thank to all team of eBSI for the work they do and to tell those interested in ITS Programme how beneficial it is not just to enlarge your professional knowledge but also to start a new business career. ITS course was my first step into the international trade world. After absolving that course and with my knowledge of languages I got a job as an export manager in Spain. What I highly appreciate on the ITS course is that you can get from this course what you really need either deep knowledge about certain area of International Trade thanks to the high qualified tutors or you can just obtain general knowledge about International Trade which will definitely help you in your further career.![]() |
“Thomas Smith of eBSI is a very well presented business manager. When I first contacted him I was really impressed by his skill. I was not sure whether I should take the course or not. But he satisfied me. He is a person who really understands the requirement of client and can deliver the service at affordable cost. I regard him as a great customer relation manager. He always solved my problem when I got difficulties. |
I am currently undertaking the international trade specialist course delivered by elearning by the electronic business school of Ireland. It so far I can say that I like the course materials and the online support structure which allows me to fit my learning in when it is convenient for me. This is especially important for me given my many tasks in Nigerian Export Import Bank and other activities. I find the Finance course especially practical since I can post technical questions on forums and receive replies from ICC experts.
