Learning Unit Summary

The first thing a digital company should consider is whether its product is appropriate to this new market. A successful product in the traditional market will not always be so in the digital market. What's more, in spite of globalisation, every market is different. Conclusions from market surveys will help answer this question. On the other hand, we should analyse what possible product alterations will have to be made for each market. The age old question returns: Is there such a thing as a global product or must we localise it to each market? In many cases we will have to add value to atoms with bits. We will also see industries in transition which are no longer selling atoms in order to sell bits. In almost every case companies are re-inventing in some way their products (their atoms) in order to add digital value to them through bits.

International Trade courses

Testimonials

  • testgattohI think the ITS Accreditation programme is a must for all international trade practitioners. For me, taking the ITS Accreditation course immediately after my LLM (International Trade Law) at the University of East Anglia,,Norwich, UK was a pure delight. The e-commerce module of the course was particularly complimentary and useful. The course content was very well developed, informative and innovative. The tutors were very friendly and supportive. In fact going through the ITS Accreditation was very beneficial to me both as a lawyer and a customs officer, and I do not hesitate to recommend it to all involved in the various aspects of international trade: custom officials, forwarding agents, bankers, etc.

  • testibokoI am currently undertaking the international trade specialist course delivered by elearning by the electronic business school of Ireland. It so far I can say that I like the course materials and the online support structure which allows me to fit my learning in when it is convenient for me. This is especially important for me given my many tasks in Nigerian Export Import Bank and other activities. I find the Finance course especially practical since I can post technical questions on forums and receive replies from ICC experts.

  • review8Working as a consultant on the road I thought it would be a good idea to undertake a professional course of study. The ITS Accreditation has exceeded my expectations. The eLearning Technology meant I could study in an engaging manner at a time and a pace that matched my busy schedule. The quality of learning elements brought to bear by the trade professionals working at the eBSI was a breath of fresh air after paper based correspondence courses. I have finished the programme but I am still hooked on participation in the online activities.

  • Ivan “I have no hesitation to recommend ITS Accreditation and Export Training Programmes, as a person who had been actively involved (working in Ireland) in
its launching in 2001-2002. It is great professional pleasure having seen that ten years after its foundation eBSI Export Academy programmes are attracting so
many professionals worldwide keen to improve their knowledge in International Finance Methods and International Trade Practice.

  • “The eBSI course I followed in 2004/2005 changed my mind about remote learning; unlike some of the boring, largely unmotivating training I had taken previously, I found this course very stimulating and it encouraged me to delve even more into the complex area of global trade. Though I have never met Thomas personally, I feel I know him well through the interactive sessions and easy telephone/email access when and as needed. He comes across as a dynamic person, very knowledgeable in his area and who constantly strives to enrich and improve the approach to remote learningAugust 2, 2007

  • “I really enjoyed and benefited from communicating with Thomas during my studies at ITS Accreditation Programme. Thomas is a highly experienced trade practitioner and a great tutor with outstanding communication skills. The online sessions he carried out were great, with simple explanations of the material and the relevant examples. Feedback from Thomas on the Open Exercises was very clear with supporting direction provided. I do not hesitate to highly recommend Thomas to anyone interested in the area of International Trade.”

  • testtcurridI found the entire course very beneficial as it allowed me to get a better knowledge of certain areas that were relatively new to our company. I also found the workshops and online sessions very interesting as they provided me with the opportunity to interact with the other participants and to hear their opinions on the topics discussed. The continuous assessment was an excellent method of reinforcing a lot of the material that I had studied on the CD Roms. The availability of a forum of the website is an excellent idea for any future queries that we may have and to keep up to date with the latest developments.

  • testvmoraruI graduated ITS accreditation in 2004. Living in the Republic of Moldova, it was so convenient to study this well-designed and interesting program! It is very useful to enlarge existing knowledge and to extend horizon with the specified practical issues for those persons wishing to improve their qualifications. The Exchange of experience and special networking between trainers (always happy to help you and to gave knowledge and advice) and students from different countries makes the program very valuable!
I truly recommend these studies for those willing to get interesting jobs, to fulfill professional duties at the highest level, and to became appreciated (and highly compensated) specialist.
